Spencer West: Defining Possible

Last week we watched a video from ‘Me to We’ about Spencer West a man who had his legs removed from the hips down due to a genetic disorder. Despite what some would call this impairment, West was able to climb Mt.Kilimanjaro.

What are your thoughts about the feats of West?

Here is the video and a link to the article we looked at in class. I have also included a clip of him being interviewed by George Strombolompolous.

My thoughts on the feats of west are they’re inspiring because even though Spencer doesn’t have feet like us he manage to climb a tall mountain.

My thoughts about the feats of West are, that he had to work out a lot to get his arms strong so he could climb the tallest mountain without his legs. Also, it’s really inspiring.

Some people who do have legs can’t climb mt.kilamanjaro, but Spencer west did it with his hands. This is very inspiring for people with disabilities.
